Sun City Grand Real Estate: Phoenix Arizona Retirement Communities Blog by Leolinda Bowers

Foto Friday ~ Arizona Rainstorm Surprise Havoc

There was almost 2 inches of rain in Surprise Arizona yesterday afternoon, 1.69 inches to be exact.  The huge downpour flooded roads and our beautiful Sun City Grand golf courses looked like rivers.  We certainly needed rain, but not that much in just a matter of hours.  The inordinate amount of rain shorted out the electrical to my water feature, Lucy, one of my prize koi died.

This morning I woke to my cactus blooming.  It's going to be a Grand day today!Arizona Cactus After Storm

Fabulous.  That cactus was, no doubt, just waiting for a rainy day to "get out" and enjoy the sunny day that followed.

Tiffany, I enjoy feeding my fish, watching them chase each other and them coming to the surface to say hello.

li, I once dropped a cacti plant on my carpet.  It was difficult to remove the thorns from the carpet, I periodically step on one.

Leolinda,

Beautiful blooms on your cactus!  Sorry to hear about Lucy and your water feature.  I've been in Arizona in August I couldn't believe how much rain can come down during the summer!!!

Leolinda,

That is a gorgeous cactus bloom and I like the way the rain droplets are on the petals. :)

Hi Leolinda, Sorry to hear about Lucy. I hate it when we lose our pets.

A very nice caprture on the cactus. We would take your extra rain if you could figure out a way to get it here,:-)
