There was almost 2 inches of rain in Surprise Arizona yesterday afternoon, 1.69 inches to be exact.  The huge downpour flooded roads and our beautiful Sun City Grand golf courses looked like rivers.  We certainly needed rain, but not that much in just a matter of hours.  The inordinate amount of rain shorted out the electrical to my water feature, Lucy, one of my prize koi died.

This morning I woke to my cactus blooming.  It's going to be a Grand day today!

This morning I had the opportunity to meet Phyllis Williams, owner of Grand Paws LLC.  Phyllis cares for pets in their own Sun City Grand or Sun City West home while their owners are away.  Phyllis says that some pets feel more comfortable in their own surroundings.

This is an excellent service if you have an older pet that you may not want to board.  Perhaps you are taking a long trip, going on a day trip or boarding facilities are filled; Phyllis will come to your rescue.

There is an initial interview in which Phyllis will meet with the owner and the pet, confirm the pet's needs and feeding instructions and compete and sign the veterinary release form. 

Your pets will be fed, watered, exercised according to their regular schedule.  This includes administering the pet's medication.  Phyllis will do other requests such as pick up mail and newspapers.  Your pet will be in a familiar environment, sleeping in their own beds and playing with their own toys.  Prices are reasonable and the pet owner is sure to have a peace of mind.

After long anticipation, Coco's Grand is open today, July 26, 2010 for business.  The restaurant is located at 15955 W Clearview Blvd in Surprise, Arizona 85374, in Sun City Grand next to Granite Falls Golf Course.  Open from 6am to 9pm daily, Coco's Grand will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Overlooking the driving range and 9^th hole at Granite Falls South, the restaurant and bar will serve alcohol daily. Imagine yourself eating while enjoying the awesome golf course views that Sun City Grand boasts to homeowners and visitors.

The entrance has changed, the friendly employees are new, the menu is different and but the views are the same! 

Freshly baked muffins, Cinnamon Toll French Toast Combo, Denver Potato Pancake Combo, Florentine Scramble, Mega Breakfast, Eggs Benedict and Lumberjack Breakfast (for us NAU parents) are just a few of Coco's Bakery Restaurant's breakfast menu signature items.  Coco does also have a "Fit and Lively" breakfast menu with items specially created under 500 calories.  The menu indicates if items are an excellent source of vitamins C and A, 15 or less grams of carbohydrates, and 15 grams or less of fat.   For anyone who claims to be over 55, Coco's has a Club 55 menu with breakfast entrée items specially selected for people 55 or older.

Lunch and dinner menus contain Angus Bistro Sirloin Steak, Grilled Red Snapper, Soup in a Baguette & Salad Combo, The Works Platter, Crispy Green Bean Sticks, Southwest Angus Sirloin, and Cajun Angus Steak & Grilled Shrimp, the newest items to the Coco's Restaurants.  The signature items on the lunch and dinner menu are Chicken Tortilla Soup, Chicken & Avocado Rolls, Turkey Avocado, Jack Croissant, Asian Chicken Salad, Grilled Salmon, Scampi-style Shrimp & Pasta, Tuscan Angus Rib-eye Steak, and Sun-dried Tomato Chicken.  The "Fit and Lively" lunch and dinner menu has items specially created under 600 calories.  There is also a Club 55 lunch and dinner menu.

Summer residents and visitors will enjoy a specialty summer menu that contains Fresh Peach & Blueberry Multi-Gran & Nut Pancake, El Paso Scramble, Corned Beef Hash & Eggs, Fresh Peach Belgian Waffle, Salmon with Fresh Peach Salsa, Summer Salad, and numerous bakery sandwich selections. Summer deserts contain peaches, just PEACHY.

A few days ago a good friend sent me an email asking that I publish it on my website blog.  Although funny, it gets you to consider the extent we will go for our pets.  I've changed the name and breed to protect this little guy. 

Five years ago we went to Petsmart to find a cat.  Petsmart works with 4 Paws Rescue, a non-kill shelter,  to find homes for unwanted pets.  As we were looking at the pets in their cages we came across Danny.  Danny was a pure bred Terrier with papers.  He was so friendly that we couldn't resist him. 

We went home with both a cat, Webster, and Danny. We wondered how anyone could give up such a wonderful pet as Danny.  It wasn't long before we found out.   Danny started having occasional "accidents" when we left him at home for a few hours. 

Since Danny was five years old we became concerned.  One day when we were going to go out of town I called a pet sitter that was referred to us. I told her that I had a dog named Danny that I'd like her to sit.  She did her sitting in her own home.  She then asked me if Danny was a Terrier?  I said "Yes, how did you know?"  She told me that she'd sat Danny before and he pooped all over her home!  She'd never sit him again.  So Danny had a reputation!  Now we knew why he was put up for adoption.   

Well, here we are five years later.  We've tried everything to break Danny of his dirty habits and have not got beyond square one.  We eventually recognized that Danny's problem was behavioral.  He's been telling us that he's angry when we leave the house.  

Finally my wife said "Its me or the dog!"  In desperation I asked our groomer for a referral to a trainer.  I  found a trainer who guaranteed that she could rid Danny of all his bad behavior.  She would put him through three weeks of "boot camp"  and he would come home as a new dog.   Well, I never thought I'd ever spend $2,000 on a dog but I was presented with an unacceptable alternative! 

There went our planned summer vacation!  If Danny still doesn't cut it with this trainer, the trainer will own a new dog!

What does this have to do with real estate?  Nothing, absolutely nothing.  It's all about people and the trust that they've placed in me as their Realtor.
